Why doesn't Facebook show the Featured Image when sharing a post?

If a post has a featured image it's provided to Facebook in the expected format (in the og:image metadata in the head of the web page), but Facebook doesn't always pick it up. This is generally fixable by using the Facebook Sharing Debugger: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

  • Enter the URL of your web page there and hit the Debug button.
  • The debugger with then display what Facebook is pulling from your page, including the image, and also show any errors.
  • It doesn't always work the first time, as Facebook tends to cache things pretty heavily. If you don't see what you expect, hit the Scrape Again button and the debugger will re-parse your page.

It may take a few tries to get the page actually scraped. As Largo provides all the content in the right format, it's really a Facebook thing to parse it correctly.
